1  Jcpantola's Personal Site / Firmwares / 6.20/6.35/6.39 PROMOD C1 Fix3 and 6.60 PROMOD C1 Fix4 on: August 12, 2014, 10:04:48 pm
6.20/6.35/6.39 PROMOD C1 Fix3 and 6.60 PROMOD C1 Fix4

For all lower CFW's regardless of your versions, It's better to update to OFW 6.20 then install CFW 6.20 PROMOD C1 Fix3 to make your psp to play all ISO/CSO games and all PSX games (PSN version or custom made PSX).

Very important: NEVER USE 6.XX PRO_Permanent flasher on partially hackable units (PSP-2000 with TA88v3 mobo/PSP-3000/PSP Go/PSP E1000) otherwise this will "BRICK" your psp and will render your psp as a paperweight device.

How to update:
1. Choose and download your PROMOD C1 version below based on their respective firmware version. (example: if you have OFW 6.20 then select CFW 6.20 PROMOD C1 Fix3, same steps goes for OFW 6.35/6.39/6.60).

Download
6.20 PROMOD C1 Fix3
6.35 PROMOD C1 Fix3
6.39 PROMOD C1 Fix3
6.60 PROMOD C1 Fix4

2. Extract the downloaded ".RAR" file to your desktop then copy the "PSP" folder to your root directory of  your memstick.
3. Disconnect your psp from the USB mode then run the "PROUPDATE" from your psp. Press "X" to install when prompted. Wait until the update is complete.
For all hackable psp units, use 6.XX PRO_Permanent flasher to make your CFW permanently installed in your psp.
For all partially hackable units (PSP-2000 with TA88v3 mobo/PSP-3000/PSP Go/PSP E1000), use "Fast Recovey" to load your CFW back in the psp system. Remember, this is not a permanent hack. Once your psp is turned off, this will revert the system back to it's original firmware.
4. After the installation is complete, your psp is now updated. Enjoy!!!

PSP-3000 TA-095 (9g) Upgrader for 6.20

source: psp-hacks

Yo... What's the scenario? It's you, a PSP-3000 TA-095 (09g) owner, who downgraded with Davee's Chronoswitch, and cannot upgrade back to firmware 6.3x or 6.60 because you get error IDXFFFFFFFF. Anyone out there in that boat? There has gotta be a few... And this is for you: Frostegater's Physical Upgrader for said model affected by said error code.

Obtain the official 6.3x or 6.60 firmware update from Sony (we can't host OFW's anymore; copyrighted... Sony made us take 'em down) and copy that to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/, keeping the name EBOOT.PBP. Copy Frostegater's upgrader to /PSP/GAME/Upgrader/ and launch it. That'll start the SCE updater, bringing you back to the latest and greatest, which you can later hack by installing CFW PRO or ME.

You're saved!

6.39 TN-A

File Description
Great news folks! Homebrew coder extraordinaire Total_Noob has teamed up with Hackman to release the release the latest version of his homebrew enabler, 6.39 TN-A!

Developer's note:

Anyway because a kernel exploit is out there, we see no reason not to publish the HEN. Total_Noob and I have now discussed, here you can download it. Yes, plenty of late although it is adapted for a long time to 6.39 and has long been a kernel exploit on the net, but we decided first to do so.
The operation is the same as in TN-E, it has not changed.

This does not mean returning to the scene, it is purely there for the faithful TN-HEN-users with 6:39, which until now were dependent on PRO.

In this sense, we thank some1 for its kernel exploit, without which this would not have been published HEN. Even with neur0n we thank, ask for a perfect CFW and all previous PSP programmers who have paved the way to something on their feet.
Furthermore, I would like to thank my lovely friends who have helped me many times when programming and with whom I still like programmers write /: dx3m, DarXploit, PSP_Lord,-blue7, Ceikor, nameless, etc.
Be mentioned, of course, are our faithful allies who have supported us Strengthens over time (not by code, but by this news and the like): The Z, fkrone, flofrucht, etc. ... pretty much all the moderators of PSPKiNG and of course an admin for a great site: Alex King. Of course, applies the same thanks also to the other great PSP-page flofrucht: Last active.

A special thanks also goes to Dr. Soup, which has long helped the HEN.

Furthermore, our thanks go to all those who are not bound to PRO, but the TN-HEN have remained faithful.

And last but not least is a nice thank you to Sony for a perfect device

11  Jcpantola's Personal Site / Older Firmwares / About this section... on: April 10, 2011, 12:52:33 am
Just for reference: Older Firmwares

this section will contain topics/threads for older fimrwares.

here's a quick review for our latest firmware updates as of now (4.10.11)

Fyi: HEN units (Psp-2000 TA-088v3 motherboards/Psp-3000/Psp go): psp units which uses Davee's Chickhen R2/MHUspeedv3 to load HEN and allows your psp to load homebrews/apps/emulators/iso and cso games; you can update your psp units directly with OFW 6.20 and update it with 6.20 PRO B9 permanent. No need to trouble yourself using chickhen to load your HEN, this is the 1st HEN which can be installed permanently and can be considered as a CFW.

Latest updates:

CFW 6.20/6.35/6.39/6.60 PRO B9 released by Team PRO. the update improves the loading of the game, supports more games. 6.20 PRO B9 is the only updater w/c can be installed permanently. 6.35/6.39/6.60 PRO B9 uses Fast recovery to load the HEN. Coldbird leaves the psp scene but promises that PRO-C is under development.

CFW 6.20/6.35 PRO B4 released by Coldbird and Virtous Flame added PRO B4 Permanent updater to make this HEN permanent available only in 6.20 PRO B4. Inferno Iso Driver is introduced in this firmwre.

HEN 6.20 TN-D released by Total Noob, you can install Virtous Flame's 6.20 TN-D permanent hack to make this HEN permanent.

CFW 6.37 ME V8 released by Neuron (this is only for use with Psp-2000 non-TA-088v3 units)

CFW 5.03 Prome-V3/5.50 Prome-V4 released by Liquidzigong (aka Virtous Flame) Prometheus was created to decrypt psp games which requires higher firmwares to play on lower CFW.

CFW 5.50 GEN D3 Final released by Team GEN

CFW 5.00 M33-6 released by Dark Alex.

Older firmwares below CFW 5.00 M33-6 will be moved here as references. --JC

credits goes to Davee for the downgrader and also to his friends who helped him.
credits to kamenriderpsp for the video on how to downgrade.

Disclaimer: Updating/Downgrading your firmware may cause a "brick" to your unit; Before you start downgrading your unit, always ask yourself if you really need to downgrade and why. I will not be held responsible for any damage or harm done to your unit by using the software provided and downloaded using this guide. This guide is tested using my psp-go (05g) and may work with psp-3000. follow the steps carefully. --JC

6.35/6.31 -> 6.20 Downgrader By Davee

[What does it do?]
Allows users who are incontent with their firmware to downgrade to 6.20 using the Sony Updater.

[How do I use it?]
Copy the "PSP" folder to your PSP. The downgrader is "signed" and can be launched from OFW XMB. You need to copy the 6.20 update to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP and for PSPgo it must be the eflash it is placed on. After setup run the downgrader and follow the onscreen instructions.

[What does it technically do?]
It uses the utility/power exploit to gain kernel access and reboots into the updater with a special PRX running. This PRX uses the pspdecrypt functionality to decrypt the updater PRX when needed. This allows the updater to boot in the newer firmwares.

You can watch this video to give you better understanding on how the process works. credits to kamenriderpsp for uploading this video.

Steps:
1. Download Davee 6.35/6.31 Downgrader To 6.20, copy both "PSP and SRC folders" to your memstick root.
For Psp Go users: copy both "PSP and SRC folders" to your internal memory directory root (ef0:/).
2. Select the appropriate 6.20 official firmware to download:
Download OFW 6.20 for Psp-2000/3000
Download OFW 6.20 for Psp Go
3. After you downloaded your OFW 6.20 updater; copy the "UPDATE" folder to your E:/PSP/GAME folder.
For Psp Go users: copy the "UPDATE" folder to your ef0:/PSP/GAME folder.
4. Make sure that your psp has at least 90% battery charge. Run Davee's downgrader, press X to proceed and wait until it verifies your OFW 6.20 updater installed in your GAME folder and your psp should takes a few seconds and it will load Sony's 6.20 updater.
5. Proceed with the 6.20 update and wait until it finishes. your psp will restart after the after the update and may start with a "BLUE warning message" press circle to fix this problem.
6. Congrats!!! you've successfully downgraded your Psp-3000/Psp Go back to OFW 6.20.

Insructions

File downloads:
FreeCheat1.0.12.18.zip
SaveDataE-D_cn.rar

1. Extract FreeCheat to the root of your memory card

2. Extract SED to /PSP/GAME/

3. Follow instructions on readme to install freecheat.

4. Back up your corrupted save game to computer.

5. Start the game and start to create a new saved game. Before you actually save the new game to the memory stick you should press the note key which will bring up the freecheat console. We need to tell freecheat to go into dump memory mode so when you save the new game it creates the files we need. On the freecheat console go to Mem Manager -> SAVEDATE Manager -> Operate Mode -> Dump. Now hit X to back out to where you can confirm to save the game. Save the game to the memory card.

6. Now exit the game and enable USB to browse your memory stick and go to /FreeCheat/SAVEDATA/ and you will see 2 files. I have:
ULJM-05500.key and ULJM-05500_0.sav
You only need to rename the ULJM-05500.key file to ULJM05500.bin removing the "-" and renaming extention to .bin. Copy this file into /PSP/GAME/SED/gamekey directory on the memory stick.

7. Backup the new save game that you created from /PSP/SAVEDATA/ to your computer for later.

8. Copy your corrupted save game from computer back to /PSP/SAVEDATA/

9. Run SED and it will load a list of save games you have. Press /\ (Triangle) on your corrupted save game and press O on the top option. Then select "Yes" and hit O again to decrypt your corrupted save game to a .bin file on the root of the card. Mine is called: ULJM005500.bin

10. Now copy your new saved game you backed up on the computer back to the /PSP/SAVEDATA/ directory. The directory of the saved game should match the name of the .bin file you just created. If it doesnt rename the .bin file to match it.

11. Load up SED again and find the new saved game and Press /\ (Triangle) to bring up the options and select the 2nd one down from the top and press O and select "Yes" and press O again. This will encrypt the .bin file you just created into the new saved game which is the old corrupted saved game info!

12. Now just start up the game and load your old save game that use to be corrupted!

I'd imagine this would work for any game that is having issues because of new firmware.

PSP System Firmware Updater

i would like to advise everyone that this thread is only for Official firmwares directly from Sony. proceed with cautions. if you accidentally updated your psp with an official firmware, your psp will not be able to read downloadable ISO/CSO games unless you have a pandora/universal unbricker to modify your psp back to cfw.

it is required to have a fully charged battery before you update your psp. any interuption during the update process may lead to a "brick".

FYI: these firmwares are usually used in updating your psp's operating system, during any update/downgrade process, if your psp freezes, incomplete update, interupted, or for not known reasons it just shuts downs by itself or self terminated, there is a big chance of bricking your psp which will render your psp useless. for fully hackable psp recovery from brick is possible by using pandora. for unhackable/HEN units: recovery from brick is not yet possible.

Disclaimer: i'm not responsible for any harm or damage done to your unit using the softwares downloaded from this site.

to install: copy the UPDATE folder to your E:/PSP/GAME folder.

for pandora usage: rename the EBOOT.pbp from the UPDATE folder to their respective version (example: if you downloaded 5.00, rename the EBOOT.pbp to 500.pbp) and copy them to your MS ROOT.

Creating and using 'PAR2 recovery files' to repair corrupt data

Creating and using 'PAR2 recovery files' for your files
source: http://www.pspiso.com/showthread.php?t=461023

credit goes to Android

Ever downloaded a big RAR file and then find out that one or more parts got corrupted during the download?
Usually you would have to re-download the parts again, which can take some time on slower connection...
(and can also waste your 'download limit' if you have a connection with a download limit like I do...)

If the uploader has included some 'PAR2 recovery files' in a seperate download link, then you can fix the
corruption in the RAR file which will save you from having to re-download the entire file / part again.

This guide has been written for both uploaders and downloaders.
for Downloaders it will show you how to use the 'PAR2 recovery files' to repair your corrupted download.
for Uploaders it will show you how to make and include a 'PAR2 recovery set' for the files you upload.

Hopefully more people will start using the PAR2 standard and will save a LOT of bandwidth from re-downloading a corrupt file.
It does take a few minutes extra for the uploader to make and upload the repair files, but I think its worth it...

Software Programs that can use PAR2 files

You can download these programs by searching google for the program name.
They are all open source and are freely available for download.

For Windows Operating Systems:
QuickPAR for Windows - Can make and repair files using PAR2 files.
'QuickPar-0.9.1.0' (489kb EXE): http://www.mediafire.com/?nydyqgtyyqn

For Macintosh Operating Systems:
MacPAR deLuxe - Can make and repair files using PAR2 files and apparently extract RAR files too.
For Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5 (1.6mb DMG): http://www.mediafire.com/?zuewmmz2xdj
For Mac OS X 10.3.9 (1.4mb DMG): http://www.mediafire.com/?mjzyjjtzyzi

The DMG files above was downloaded on a windows computer and re-uploaded, I'm not sure if it will still work on a MAC.

Note: For MAC users who have UnrarX installed, the program seems to have a built-in PAR2 repair program:
extract the PAR2 files into the same folder as the RAR files and open the first RAR file with UnrarX.
Drag one of the PAR2 files from the repair files onto the UnrarX window and UnrarX should repair the file.

For Linux Operating Systems:
Ubuntu:

To install PAR2 on Ubuntu, open a console window and type:

Code:
sudo apt-get install par2To start a PAR2 repair, open a console and type in:

Code:
par2 r filename.par2
--OR--
par2repair filename.par2Quickpar should work fine with the latest version of 'WINE' if you don't want to or know how to use a command line program.
For other Linux Distros, it should be similar to the above, try searching your linux package manger for 'PAR2' or 'Parity archive'

Note: The PAR2 creation and repair guides have been written using 'QuickPAR' but it should be very similar in other programs too.

Repairing Corrupted Files with PAR2

If you get an error when extracting your RAR files and there are PAR2 repair files available for download,
you can use them to fix the corruption, If there are no 'PAR2 files' included, then you will not be able to repair the files
maybe you can ask the uploader if they still have the original RAR files they uploaded to make and upload 'PAR2 files'.

The error will usually look something like this picture below and will contain the words "Volume is corrupt" or something similar:

The repair process is pretty simple:

1) Make a new folder somewhere on your computer, the folder can be named anything you like...
2) Put ALL the rars files (even if they are not corrupted) into that folder. (You need all the RAR files in the 'par2 set' to start a repair)
3) Place the 'PAR2 files' into the same folder with the RAR files. if they are in a RAR file you will need to extract them

The uploader may have a few sets of repair RAR files, just download the first one that contains the 'index' file and a few repair blocks.
Later on, if you find that you need more blocks to repair your files, then you can download and use the additional repair files.

If the repair RAR file is corrupted, it doesn't really matter, as long as you have at least 2 or more PAR2 files you will still be able to repair.
(Except that you will be missing a few of the recovery blocks, but you might not need all of the blocks to repair the files)

This is what the folder should look like after you have placed the RAR and PAR2 files into the same folder:

4) Open your PAR2 repair program (e.g Quickpar / Macpar Deluxe etc)

5) Click the 'open' button and open the small index PAR2 file. (the index file is usually named something like 'filename.par2')
(On windows, you can choose to associate the 'PAR2' extension with Quickpar using 'open with', so double clicking 'PAR2' files will open them directly)

6) Let the program scan the files for errors, this can take a few seconds. Once its done you should see the status of each file.
Green files are perfect, Orange files are damaged and Red files are missing.

If some or all of your RAR files are marked 'red' then make sure that
- All the RAR files and PAR2 files are in the same folder
- The RAR files are named correctly (e.g "filename_part_2.rar" will not match "filename.part.2.rar"
- The PAR2 files are the ones that were made for the RAR files you downloaded.

Here is a screenshot of my results, as you can see part 2 is not complete but since I have 136 repair blocks I can repair the file using the PAR2 files.
Click here for the Screenshot: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/3074/par2damage.jpg

If you don't have enough blocks to repair, its likely that one of your files didn't fully finish downloading...
You can usually tell which part it is as it will have a low number of available blocks. (e.g 52/272 blocks available)
These incomplete files will need to be re-downloaded as there is too much missing or damaged data in the file.

Some uploaders may include an extra repair file with more repair blocks,
If you are missing less the amount of blocks in that file, download it and extract it
into the folder with the other PAR2 files, then close and reopen the index PAR2 file.
e.g If you are missing 30 blocks, but the uploader has an additional RAR file with 32 more blocks
you can download it, extract it to the same folder as the other PAR2 files and reopen the index PAR2 file.

7) If you can repair the file, click the 'Repair' button and wait for it to finish.
the program should then recheck the file and if the repair was a success
you should see a message like "Repair Succeeded in ## seconds @ ### MB/s"

Note: on windows you may find the corrupted files in the recycle bin or in the folder with the original file but renamed.
The corrupted files will usually be renamed to have a file extension of ".1", the corrupted files can be safely deleted after repair.

Cool Click on 'Exit' to close the PAR2 program.

9) you can extract the RAR files and there should be no file corruption errors.
(If you still get errors then the PAR2 files were probably made from 'damaged' RAR files)

Making PAR2 repair files

A PAR2 file is made from a 'set' of files on your computer, the downloader needs ALL the files in a set to start repair.

If you have say a 'multiple disc' game or music album, make each disc a seperate PAR2 repair set,
Some people may only want to download 'disc 2' as they it be missing or damaged, or they might have disc 1 already etc...
If their RAR gets corrupted they won't be able to repair using the PAR2 because they will be missing the files from disc 1.

1) Open your PAR2 Creation program and click the 'Options' button.
A new window opens with the settings, change the 'Preferred block Size' to 'Exact - 32,768 bytes'.
This makes each block a multiple of 32kb, which makes the PAR2 files able to repair more data errors.
Note: Some settings here will only need to be done once and they will be saved for all future creation jobs.

2) Drag and drop (or use the add button) to put the files you want in the 'set' into the "source files" window.
You can use ANY filetype it doesn't have to be RAR files, you can make a set from MP3 files, PNG files etc

A set of files is usually all the parts for your upload:
filename.part1.rar
filename.part2.rar
filename.part3.rar
filename.part4.rar

Screenshot example using drag and drop: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/755/par2dragdrop.jpg

3) Tick the "Restrict Block Size to multiples' box so it is turned ON.
Untick the "split files' option as your source files should be split into parts already.

4) Next set the amount of repair data to include using the "Redundancy" slider.

Remeber that the bigger the set of files, the more chance it has to become corrupted.
you will want to adjust the amount of recovery data depending on the size of your files

I like to use
1% for files between 1mb to 2gb
2% for files between 2gb to 4gb
4% for files bigger then 4gb

1% is 1mb of repair data for every 100mb data in the set.
A 2gb set of files with 1% repair data will be able to repair up to 20mb of damage.

5) In the Recovery file size box, choose 'Variable - Limited to largest data file'
This will make multiple PAR2 files with a variable amount of repair data in each one.

the reason for this is, if you only have a single PAR2 repair file and the file gets corrupted during the download, the entire file is useless.
winrar will not extract files from the RAR if they are damaged, if you pack multple PAR2s file in a RAR and part of it is corrupted,
the downloader can still use the 'good' files that were sucessfully extracted from the RAR and they will still get some repair blocks.

6) Next, set the block size using the "Source Block Count" slider.

Smaller blocksize will make creation time longer and repairing quicker

Bigger blocksize will make the creation time shorter and the repairing will be longer
but you will also have less blocks and you will also have more repair data 'waste'.

example: If the Block size is 512kb, and only 12kb of the data in that block was corrupted,
the program will use 512kb of repair data to repair that block of data which will waste 500kb of repair data.
if you had used say a 64kb block size, you would only waste 52kb of repair data, which is more efficient.

I find that having between 4000 to 6000 blocks in total for the set works pretty well.
This usually gives a block size of between 32kb and 256kb which is a good size.

Here is a screenshot of my settings for a set of 5 files, totaling 500mb, you can use these settings as a reference:
Screenshot: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3447/par2create.jpg

7) Click the 'Create' button and wait for the program to create the PAR2 files.
This will take a few minutes, as it depends on the block size and the size of the files.

Cool Once done, pack the 'PAR2' files into a RAR file and name the RAR something like: '<filename of uploaded files>-repair.rar'
so the downloader will know that the PAR2 files are for that set of files that you have uploaded.
e.g files are named '1823.part##.rar' then your the repair files could be named '1823-repair.rar'

9) Upload the PAR2 repair RAR file as well as the normal RAR files.
(you might want to add how much repair data is included)
e.g PAR2 files with 1% repair data: <download link>

If you have a huge PAR2 set with say 20mb or more of repair data
you can choose to pack the repair data into multiple RAR files:

example: the index PAR2 and say the first 4 repair files into 'repair data 1' RAR file
and the rest of the PAR2 files into a 'repair data 2' RAR file.

This way, the downloader won't need to download ALL the PAR2 files to fix a small error.
and if they need more repair blocks, they can download the second archive.

If you want to find out how many blocks are in each archive,
just add the numbers after the plus sign in the PAR2 filenames.

e.g
Repair set 1:
filename.par2
filename.vol000+01.PAR2
filename.vol001+02.PAR2

01 + 02 = total of 03 repair blocks and the index file.

Repair set 2:
filename.vol003+04.PAR2
filename.vol007+06.PAR2

04 + 06 = total of 10 additional repair blocks.

If the downloader had more then 4 damaged blocks in their downloaded files,
they would also need to download the 2nd file repair as well as the first.

If you do split the repair file into multiple RARs, put the amount of blocks that each RAR file has.
This way the downloader will know if the file has enough blocks to repair their file.

You might also want to include a link to this guide in your topic so the downloaders will know how to
use the PAR2 files, Direct them to the "Repairing Corrupted Files with PAR2" section of this guide.

What is PAR2 and how does it work?

PAR2 stands for 'Parity ARchive Version 2'

It is an open source software that makes 'parity' files using "forward error correction' which
can be used to perform data verification and allow recovery when data is lost or corrupted.

If the 'original' RAR files were named something like:

filename.part01.rar
filename.part02.rar
filename.part03.rar

the 'Parity Archive files' would be named something like this:
(note that the file extension for these files are 'PAR2')

filename.par2
filename.vol000+01.PAR2
filename.vol001+02.PAR2
filename.vol003+04.PAR2
filename.vol007+06.PAR2
and so on...

The first file acts as an index file and contains no repair data,
it just contains the checksum of the blocks of the 'original files' in the set.
(just like a torrent contains the filenames and 'checksums' of the files in it)

All files after the first file will contain repair data. (all the files with 'VOL' in their filename)
The number before the + sign is how many blocks were in previous PAR2 files.
(e.g the forth file has 'vol007', which shows that in all the previous files, there are 7 blocks total)

The number after the + sign is how many blocks that specific PAR2 repair file contains if it was used on its own.
(if you only had the index and the very last file of the PAR2 set above, you could repair up to 6 blocks of data)

How to compress your PSP games

This will be my update on my guide on how to compress your psp games.

Disclaimer: The game in this guide is just an example to give you an idea how the process works. you can use any game that you want. Psp games that have "munge files" or compressed files (like .BIN, .PKG. etc.) like Tekken 5, Final Fantasy Crisis Core... i can not teach you how to edit or extract them. Don't expect to much. lol!
Everything is explained in my own words. --JC/Riskbreaker

-Some of you gamers out there may already know how to use UMDGEN, i will explain here the basic steps in editing your psp games. i have included the use of "filetxt" which i did not include in my previous guide. My guide is now simplified for easy understanding of the process. Enjoy!

-you can delete the files that you don't want in the game or use "RELINK". you can skip "RELINK" if you want to have full videos or complete story of the game you're trying to edit/rip.

Take note:
-Some psp games crashes when you try to edit them. Example: Tekken 6. Always keep a back up of your files.

-when using relink, pls be advised that the relinked files will have the same output as the source file that you have choosen. you can expect that they will have same cutscenes or music throughout the game.

click pics to Download UMDGEN 4.0

Steps:

1. Run UMDGEN and click on the OPEN tab and Select a game that you want to compress.

Example: Let's try Daxter
Untouched ISO: 1340.72gb

2. Before you edit the game, click on "File", select "File List", select "Export". Save the .txt file as the name of the game example "Daxter.txt".

In some cases, some edited games wont work when the game itself detected there's a missing file or removed files from the ISO, they called this as LBA protected files. You can use "import" from the file list and select your SAVED (game).txt file as a way of bypassing the security.

3. Click on dummy search, umdgen will convert the dummy files to zero kb.

4. Click the "USRDIR" folder, and you will see several folders.

5. Ask yourself, what files do you want to delete... In general, the reason why some games have big sizes because of the languages it carries. It contains the same data, videos, dialogs, translated in different languages with the same or bigger file size.

In my guide, i will remove all other languages except ENGLISH, check each folders for other languages.

6. Click the "SYSDIR" folder, and you will see the "UPDATE" folder (which contains the Sony Official Firmware included in UMD GAME), you can delete this folder... however in some cases if the game freezes/crashes, make sure you have a back up of the game.

Quote
If the game freezes/crashes after removing the "UPDATE" folder, use the saved "FILETXT" (pls read step 2)
repeat the steps 1-6.

click on "File", select "File List", select "Import". Select "Daxter.txt"

A message will show up "Do you want to force file positions to Filelist positions?" select "YES" and proceed with step 7.

Quote
How to "RELINK"
-"RELINK" process allows you to merge selected files together having one single file as their source having the same size, data and properties.
-you can relink the videos "PMF=playstation Media File" and music/bgm "AT3=Atrac Audio File". Select a file that you want to be the source.

-select all the files that you want to be relinked to the source.

-you will noticed that the selected files turns BLUE and have the same file information

-when using relink, pls be advised that the relinked files will have the same output as the source file. you can expect that they will have the same cutscenes or music throughout the game.

-Sometimes during the editing process, the game crashes/freezes. It's a matter of trial and errors. Don't forget to back up your original iso.

This is the my relinked "Daxter.cso"

if your intention is just for fun or fast gaming you can definitely use relink.

7. After you have edited/ripped your psp game, you can now save the file. click the "save" icon" and select your file format.
Take note: Some games when you save it as "CSO" you may experience a "slow down or lag" during gameplay (example is God of War Chains of Olympus). Better test the game in both ISO and CSO to find out if there are any changes in game speed then decide which is better.

If you used a game filetxt (pls read step 2), when you save the file as ISO... your edited/ripped psp game will render the same file size like the original. Use game filetxt when needed, some games works fine without filetxt, try to explore other ways of editing your psp games, and always keep a back up of your iso/cso.

in this example i used "cso", i have saved the game as "Daxter.cso".

Check the difference below between the untouched iso and the edited cso.

Untouched ISO 1340.72gb > edited to 711mb

it's your option to choose what is best for your edited game.
i prefer to have a small size full game but not relinked. Check my compressed Assassins Creed Bloodlines click here

That's it for today. i hope you learned something on my guide.

Tekken 6 WORKING PATCH!! and "UMD version to PSN version" converter
by The Android
Source: http://pspiso.com/showthread.php?t=576451

Quote
I've tested this patch and it is working on 5.50 GEN-D2 (Fat PSP) and 5.03 MHU (Slim PSP).
This Patch also works on 5.00 M33-6, you will need to set the CPU speed to default for it to work.
If the patched game isn't working and you are on 5.50 GEN-B2, try updating to 5.50 GEN-D2.

If you need to update from an older custom firmware to 5.50 GEN-D2, you can find the files and instructions here:
http://www.pspiso.com/showpost.php?p...58&postcount=3
PSPs that are using the '5.03 HEN', DO NOT update to 5.50 GEN-D2 you will brick your PSP if you do.

There is a Patch to convert the UMD version to PSN version further down this post if you want to change the version.
If you are not sure which version you have then scroll down to the "Tekken 6 Version Check" section at the bottom of this post.

/!\ Do not rebuild the ISO with UMDGEN! /!\
UMDGEN will cut out the 'hidden' data section making the ISO not work.

Recommended Custom Firmware Settings:
(press 'select' in the XMB to change the settings)
UMD Mode: Sony NP9660
CPU Clock XMB: Default
CPU Clock Game: Default

check list:
you need 1.50 firmware, 3.52 official firmware from SONY, and M33 3.52 firmware creator

click to download 1.50 firmware

click to download 3.52 official firmware
DON"T INSTALL THIS DIRECTLY TO YOUR PSP

click to download M33 3.52 firmware creator
this will enable your PSP to upgrade the firmware

After downloading these files... let's start!!!

A. Name the 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP and the 3.52 EBOOT to 352.PBP.

B. Now take the M33CREATOR folder and place it on your PSP at this location:

ms0:/PSP/GAME150/ or E:/PSP/GAME150/

C. Now place both the 150.PBP and 352.PBP files into the M33CREATOR folder on your PSP.

D. Disconnect the PSP from PC, and from your PSP run the M33CREATOR

note: Make sure your battery charge is above 75% and/or has a charger

plugged in before you do the update. otherwise it will cancel the process.

E. Once finished, it will go back to the XMB (menu screen on your PSP), Go again to

Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, a new icon will be created and execute "3.52 M33UPDATE". You'll have to press X to agree to

the installation.

F. When finished, press X to shut down and reboot manually.

Congrats!!! Your PSP is now CFW 3.52 M33 firmware

you can also update your CFW 3.52 M33 to update 4 , no need to install the 3rd update,

click here to download CFW 3.52 M33-4

I'm now playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2, YA-HA!!!
(for other concerns pls read the readme file in the M33 3.52 creator folder)

UPDATES!!! you can now upgrade your 3.52 M33-4 to 3.71 M33 w/ 1.50 kernel support

VERY IMPORTANT... (EVERYTHING IS IN THE FOLDER no need to search for 1.50 addon, 150.PBP, and 3.71 M33 UPDATE)
Your Psp should be in CFW 3.52 M33-4 only PSP FAT not slim FOR THIS TO WORK...
just click here to download 3.71 M33 w/ 1.50 kernel support

1) copy this update folder to your game folder and launch it. you should now be on m33 3.71

When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT.
Do not skip this step shutting down the psp by yourself will end with a brick

2) after installing the 3.71 update, delete the folder and replace it with 1.50 UPDATE (just

rename 1.50 UPDATE folder to "UPDATE" and place it in E:\PSP\GAME150 and make sure you put the 150.PBP on the root of your memory stick.) run the renamed folder UPDATE in the xmb and wait until it finishes..

3) ENJOY!!! YOUR PSP IS NOW 3.71 HOMEBREW CAPABLE!!! special thanks to noriegaflow, and my friend Xer2k9

if some of your homebrew dont work in your recovery go to configuration and put "UMD MODE (CURRENTLY: M33 DRIVER -NO UMD-)"

i have renamed the SONY 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP. You need to put the "150.PBP" to E:\

This guide is in credit to you, noriegaflow.

note:
This is my 1st guide in psp upgrade/downgrade. The reason i created this guide is because to make this as a guide for other gamers who wishes to manually upgrade their psp without pandora.

Jun (Jeon) Ji Hyun

My friend introduce me this korean movie "My Sassy Girl" and "Windstruck" (nope. i dont understand korean though i can read english subs. lol!). i made some research on the movie's leading lady Jun (Jeon) Ji Hyun's profile's and other info and i was able to find a dedicated fan site exclusively for her.

Windstruck

My Sassy Girl

Jeon Ji-hyun (Korean: 전지현; born 30 October 1981) is a South Korean actress and model famous for her role in My Sassy Girl.

Jeon was born in Seoul, and studied in the Department of Theater and Film at Dongguk University. She began her career as a model in 1997, and after appearing in a number of TV sitcoms, her movie debut came in White Valentine (1999). This was followed by a role in Il Mare (2000), which proved to be a success. An American remake of Il Mare, The Lake House, was released June 14, 2006. However, her biggest breakthrough was in My Sassy Girl (2001), a romantic comedy that won her the Best Actress award at the Daejong Film Festival in 2002. In 2004, Jun starred in Windstruck (내 여자친구를 소개합니다), a 2004 South Korean fantasy-romantic comedy directed by Kwak Jae-yong. The film was a major success, ranking as the 8th-highest grossing Korean film of 2004. In 2006, she starred in Daisy.

Since her debut as a model for Echo, Jeon has modeled for many fashion companies and more recently, in advertisements for mobile phones and cosmetics. Some of her more popular product endorsements include Giordano, Laneige, and Samsung Anycall.

In 2005, she became the first Korean artist to feature on the cover for the famous fashion magazine ELLE.

Jun will play the lead role of Saya Otonashi in the live-action version of Blood: The Last Vampire, which was filmed in China and Argentina in March 2007. It is slated for a March 2009 release.

Download Vids from any sites (FLV) and convert them to your PSP

I created this guide to help anyone who wants to have their own favs videos for their psp. have you seen a rare vids from a website (like MTV, video clips, uploaded vids, movies, etc...) but the problem is there is no download links and you wish you can have the vids for yourself? No need to worry... i want to share you something and i will explain it on my own words no need for limewire, bearshare, or other search apps, no need for long waiting. LOL!

things that you need...
-download and install "orbit downloader setup installer" to your PC and run the program.
download orbit downloader setup installer
description: this will allow you to grab vids from youtube, friendster, etc.
note: this application can also speed up and maximize the download process for your PC.

-once you have installed orbit, you can use total video converter as your video tool converter for any type of formats. it can be use to convert vids for your psp, ipod, mobile phones 3GP formats, and it can even rip DVD movies which i'm using right now. you can even download and create your own collections of MTV's or animes. LOL!

Download Total Video Converter 3.11

To install: Install using the given installer.

look for any vids that you like...
-lets try this video for "The Mummy 3 - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - Trailer (HD) NEW"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=lYNNLwUJ0wE

Using Orbit downloader
-use the cursor and point to the video that you want and wait for the pop up message and click "Get It!"

-very important: make sure to clear first the menu because you will see many links there (any websites that you opened will appear on the menu and you need to delete those to avoid confusions... so that you will find out which is the correct file that you want to download. just highlight them all then "right click and select delete"

-under orbit's downloader menu select the file format with the file extension .FLV and click download.
sometimes orbit will ask you to refresh the page then make sure the media is playing and click download. For this sample i selected "get_video.flv" once the file is downloaded you can now use the total video converter to convert it to mp4 for PSP

Using Total Video Converter
-now that the video has been downloaded. run total video converter and go to "new task" and select "import files" and get your downloaded video.

-select which type of video format you wish to convert the file to...

-i have selected PSP mp4 format for this guide

-now that the video is converted you can now transfer ("M4V03243.mp4" for this sample) the converted video to E:/VIDEO folder
(you can also rename the video so that it will be easier for you to remember)

-congrats! now you can convert videos, mtv's, movies for your psp.
i hope you learn something from my guide.
FYI: the quality of the converted video will also depends on the quality of the downloaded FLV

you can download the actual converted video here. thanks again.

note: you can also use psptube and watch the downloaded flv file from your psp if you dont want to convert. ganito kasi ginagawa ko kapag gusto ko manood ng naruto shippuden to my psp. lol!  Grin

Instructions: Copy UPDATE folder /PSP/GAME/ and run.
Put the 4.01 sony update as 401.PBP in same folder, or let the program download it for you using a wifi connection.

Changes:

Fixed, now vsh menu will not be loaded when using the camera.

- Recovery can now be translated, See how below. Translation to spanish is autoincluded.

Taanslating the recovery.
To translate the recovery create a text file in ms0:/seplugins/xx_recovery.txt
or flash1:/xx_recoery.txt (they are evaluated in that order), where xx is the language code
of your language:

es -> spanish
en -> english
fr -> french
de -> german
it -> italian
ja -> japanese
ko -> korean
nl -> netherlands
pt -> portuguese
ru -> russian
ch1 -> chinese simplified
ch2 -> chinese traditional

The file en_recovery.txt in translate folder is included for people to translate to their languages, this file is not needed for english people, as the english language is used when no language file is found.
Just change the english strings to your language ones, and put it in the path mentioned above. Be careful to check in the recovery that the lines look fine, don't use too large text.

The spanish file es_recovery.txt will be written by the program in the memory stick.

1.50 kernel addon for fat will be released this evening or this night.

How to Rip Files from .PKG or Munge Files in a PSP ISO or PS2 ISO by jkg666

Note: This is can also be used in PS2 ISO Ripping. This is commonly used in PSP for FF7:CC Ripping!

First of all, What are munge files? Firstly, MUNGE is actually an acronym, and it stands for Modify Until Not Guessed Easily. Similarly, a munge file is a file that has been modified until we are unable to tell the contents of it without using a dedicated application. In the context of ISOs, some games have all their data stored into one huge munge file, instead of separating them. Here's a screenshot of the difference between two games, one with a munge file and one without.

As you can see, Crisis Core contains a munge file that's nearly 1.7GB, while Call of Duty has its files individually stored into folders. This makes Call of Duty easily ripped, as you can simply go into the movie folder and relink all the movie files, instantly reducing the ISO size. On the other hand, you can't do the same with Crisis Core.

So, how do we go about ripping this munge file? We need the help of another program, Xpert 2, as well as the corresponding plugin for Crisis Core. Both will be available for download at the bottom of this post.

First, we will need to extract the munge files. Open up the ISO of Crisis Core, and extract both discimg.fse (LBA table) and discimg.pkg (munge file). This might take a while, as the files are nearly 1.7GB in size.

Once the extraction is done, close UMDGEN. We'll be moving on to Xpert 2. Run the setup program and install Xpert 2 first. Once it's done, we need to copy in the Crisis Core plugin. Go to where you installed Xpert 2, and copy the Crisis Core plugin to the Xpert-Plugins folder.

w run Xpert 2. It should take a while to load up the window, as well as the plugins.
First, select the Crisis Core plugin from the dropdown list labeled Xpert-Plugins. The Crisis Core picture should appear, indicating that you've selected the correct plugin. The window title should also change to reflect the plugin that's selected.

Notice the row of buttons on top? Click the one with a yellow folder and the letter "B" on it. It's the button that's second from the right. Select the munge file, discimg.pkg.

Now click on the button with a yellow folder and the letter "T". This is the button all the way to the right. Select the table file, discimg.fse.

Now that you've selected both files, the other buttons are now enabled. Click button 1: Extract LBA. Once it's done, a message box will pop up, informing you that the extraction of LBA is done. Click OK to continue.

Now, click button 2: Extract File. This will take as long as 15 minutes, as the individual files are being extracted out from the munge file. As usual, a message box will inform you once it's done.

Go back to the folder where you saved the discimg.pkg and discimg.fse files. You should now see a new folder, @DISCIMG.PKG. This contains the files that were stored inside the discimg.pkg munge file.

Here is where you can edit the files to cut down on the size. Some methods you can use are to replace the bigger files with smaller ones of the same type, or replacing the bigger files with empty files. This will involve quite a lot of manual work, so be prepared to spend a lot of time if you want to rip a complicated game.

Once you're done with the editing, it's back to Xpert 2 to rebuild the file. Click button 3: Rebuild File. Xpert will get to work combining all the individual files back into the munge file, and pop up a message box once it's done.

Lastly, click button 4: Rebuild LBA. This will fix up discimg.fse so that it will report the correct locations for the files.

Go back to the folder and look for the newly built files. They should be called NEW-DISCIMG.FSE and NEW-DISCIMG.PKG. Change their names back to discimg.fse and discimg.pkg respectively, and put them into the Crisis Core ISO file using UMDGEN. Save it and you're done.

This method can be used for any other munge files that you come across, as long as you have the correct plugin for the file that you're trying to edit. Have fun ripping games that you originally thought could never fit on your 1GB memory stick!

Note: There are 3 things needed for this procedures (All Links Below): Xpert.msi (installer) , Xpert.exe (crack/bugfix) and UMDGEN (Download Separately! Just Google!) (Optional) FF7:CC Plugin, for FF7:CC Ripping

March33 NO-UMD driver compatibility has increased to support games like Coded Arms, Patapon, Harvest Moon Innocent Life and probably others affected by same errors.

PSX on PSP - Memory Card Handling

Now, here's a problem for you. You have your handy PSX on PSP for single disk games or multiple disk games. But what happens when you've been playing one game for some time - like, say, Suikoden on your Playstation, and then you want to transfer that save game to your PSP so you can play it there - or play Suikoden II which can start a new game with your Suikoden save game files?

Or, even worse, you're playing a game like Chrono Cross, and it requires you swap your Playstation disk before you save your game!

This part of the guide will walk you through using Playstation Memory Files on your PSP. It requires some new tools, but with it, you'll be able to go back and forth.

cwcheat system the first universal cheat device for psp

cwcheat is the FIRST ever cheat device available on PSP.
With cwcheat you can apply raw-relative cheat codes either
in PSP and POPS game mode (due to two different version of
this application: cwcheat and cwcheatpops) just like the
famous commercial products "Action Replay", "CodeBreaker",
"GameShark", "Xploder", etc. available on other platforms.
cwcheat also features cheat searching and editing through
a nice and easy-to-use in-game menu.

 -HISTORY
The cwcheat project started in latter 2005 when the
ex-golden-firmware 1.50 was the only firmware able to
run unsigned code. Me (weltall) and sincro started to
play around with psp coding and we worked on a game-loader
with built-in cheat support. The closed-beta project
then evolved along with the psp-scene; sincro abandoned
the project and I (weltall) ported the small and buggy
code to a full devhook-compatable prx. The loader was
removed, while cheating functions were slightly improved.
With the new custom-firmwares such as Dark_Alex's
cwcheat evolved another time mantaining its compatibility
and opening the way also to a POPS version (PSOne Emulator).
Actually, cwcheat is a MUST of every gamer.

Custom Firmware 3.90 M33 update 2
Developer Dark_AleX
File Size 0.19 MB
Operating System PSP

File Description
Here's something new from homebrew developer Dark AleX: the newest build for the custom firmware 3.90 M33 for the PlayStation Portable released just a few weeks ago. The new CFW 3.90 M33-2 improves much of the plugins since the previous version, as well as adds in a couple of patches specifically for the PSP Slim & Lite.

Anyway, to keep it simple here's a list of the new changes noted in the latest version of CFW 3.90 M33-2:

* Improvements in plugins loading code:
o Fixed some problems with problematic cards due to filesystem not mounted.
o Now plugins should read the faster.
o Problem fixed with lines with spaces at the end.
* Added the rest of regions to the recovery option fakeregion.
* (PSP SLIM): Added patches in nand ipl to allow Booster multiiplloader and TimeMachine iplloader to boot from nand.

Please also note that only CFW 3.90 M33-2 and higher can be booted from the Slim's nand with the ipl loaders mentioned. As for the network updater, here's what's new:

* The 3.90 eboot downloading code is now more stable, no more freezes after selecting AP
* Memory stick write in the 3.90 downloading code is delayed the maximum possible for faster operation (the system prefers big chunks of data written at once).

To install the latest update manually, make sure that you already have CFW 3.90 M33 installed on your PSP and simply copy the update folder to /PSP/GAME and run the program.

We strongly advise that you take a look at the Readme.txt file for more details on how to install the latest custom firmware on to your PSP. You can download CFW 3.90 M33-2 below.

87  Things to learn for your PSP / Resources / Re: Official Monster Hunter Website on: February 10, 2008, 05:13:39 pm
i just got these cool updates for MHF 2nd G...

First of all, other than reporters, you are not allowed to take pictures during the Public Test Show of MHP2G which was held in Tokyo yesterday. But there are always ways to get around with that. As I told you guys before, one of my friends, with the name Sandrock, was lucky enough to be accepted in this show, and he managed to take some exclusive photos and news for you guys to enjoy:

There are 2 giant felyne statues at the entrance of the show. As you may recall, one of them is the Felyne Fighters that would fight alone side with you in the elder quest of MHP2G.

As the show started, a never before seen video of MHP2G was showed. Many new elements were revealed such as the new thunder charging attack for Kirin, the drift style charging for the new monster purple Hermitaur, and a super scary Kut-ku size Vespoid, which is strong enough to take half HP away from a 150 full HP hunter with one hit.

More information of the Felyne Fighter are also revealed. As you can see from the pictures below, there are 3 different types of the Felyne Fighters:

1. Attacker type. Very brave, able to guard, can also use demon flute during battle
2. Bomber type. As the name says, it will throw bombs like crazy at monsters, can not use flute, great for range fight.
3. All Purpose type. Can do both attack and bombing, able to use demon flute and armor flute. But not very brave in battle, like to pick on small monsters rather than boss monsters.

The weapons these Felynes use also have elements. Right now elements such as Fire, Ice are confirmed. Status element is not yet shown during this show.

CFW 3.90 M33 1.50 add on kernel for phat

new update!!!
CFW 3.90 1.50 kernel addon v2 for PSP Phat
File Description
Dark AleX has updated his site again, releasing version 2 of the 1.50 kernel addon for the Sony PlayStation Portable Fat. This update currently works with your PSPs with CFW 3.90 M33. Here's the changelog for Dark AleX' 1.50 kernel addon version 2:

* TA086: when being in 4th brightness level and recovering from sleep mode, the display was black. Fixed.
* Added support in the 1.50 kernel for memory sticks greater than 4 GB. (I finally got my 8GB card! Cheesy) Before, only the first 4 GB portion was recognized by the 1.5 kernel. Now, the theroetical limit is 4GB*512 = 2 Terabytes. ("only" 1 TB, if sony were using signed variables).

To install this update, just copy to /PSP/GAME and then run.

sorry for this noob post.

do i need to update from cfw 3.71 > CFW PSP 3.80 M33 > CFW 3.80 M33-2 > CFW 3.80 1.50 kernel add-on >Custom PSP Firmware M33-3 > Custom PSP Firmware M33-3 ? all in this sequence?

or can i just do cfw 3.71 > Custom PSP Firmware M33-4? Huh?
i will give you the sequence, ericmd2003.
You have CFW 3.71 M33 > CFW PSP 3.80 M33 > CFW 3.80 M33-2 > CFW PSP 3.80 M33-3 > CFW PSP 3.80 M33-4 (if you have psp slim just follow this update sequence... if you are using a psp phat also include 1.50 add-on... )
